What a great Sunday.

Posted by Elizabeth on September 29, 2008

Well, mostly great at least.  The Packers did lose their game for the second week in a row, but it was at least a fun game to watch (and we got it locally, so I didn’t have to go to my mom’s house to watch it on her Dish….i could just relax on my own couch).  Near the end of the game, my sweet friend Jan (Katie’s mom) came over and asked if she could steal Grant for the afternoon.  Since I worked last night, and Chad was at work, I was more than happy to get an opportunity for an uninterupted Sunday afternoon nap.  Grant had such a great time.  He played, played, played and got to eat lots of his favorite food….fruit.  Raspberries, grapes, and bananas…what a lucky boy.  I went and picked him up a little before eight and he was still laughing and having a great time.  Needless to say, he passed out a few minutes after we pulled out of their driveway (he was too busy playing to take an afternoon nap).  Thank you so much Emery family for taking such great care of me and Grant:).  You guys are seriously the best!

I know that I haven’t posted in a little while, but I’ll try to catch you up with tidbits from my camera.  Enjoy!

We went on a weekend trip to Wisconsin last weekend.  We got to go shopping at the outlets, see our best friends the Matthies, and go to a Packer game.  It was amazing.  The best buy?  It was the most expensive thing, but we found a Grant jersey in toddler size.  So exciting (gotta love the fact that Ryan Grant did so well last season…).  While we were in Wisconsin, we dropped the camera and broke my favorite lens.  Luckily the main body of the camera is fine, but we took far less pictures that day than we had planned:(.

On Tuesday we went to Overhiser Orchards to pick honeycrisp apples.  They are our absolute favorite.  It was fun this year because the kids wanted to help.  Haley actually helped Grandma pick apples off of the tree and Grant decided to help by picking apples off of the ground and trying to put them in the bag.  Overall we picked almost 100 pounds of apples.  Chad and I kept about 40 pounds of them.  The nice thing is that if you keep them in the fridge they can last for months.  YUM!

On Thursday, Grant and I went to the mall with Gwen and Jonathan.  Their favorite parts were the playground and Maui Wowi.  Grant figured out how to climb the stairs of the playground, turn around at the top of slide, and slide himself down.  He LOVED it.  He had the biggest smile on his face the whole time.  This was Jonathan’s first time going to a playground.  He was able to climb the stairs (although Grant lapped him several times), but he needed his mommy’s help to slide down the slide.  I love seeing the boys have so much fun together.  They really seem to enjoy spending time with each other.

After we played for a while, we went upstairs to see if Katie was working.  She was and, for once, she wasn’t busy.  We talked for a while and then she asked if she could make the boys some drinks.  They enjoyed them so much.  Grant barely let me have any of it.  Thanks again Katie!

Well, it is getting late, but I’ll be back tomorrow with just a few more pictures.  Good night all!
